Why I Started Painting

A Personal Story That Turned Into a Business

It didn’t start with a business plan. It started with a blank wall and a painting in my own home — a space that needed colour, life, and something meaningful. I couldn’t find the kind of art I was looking for. So I picked up a brush and began to paint it myself.

That first painting led to another… and then another. What began as a creative escape soon became something more — a purpose, a passion, and eventually, a business that brings my artwork into homes across Australia and beyond.

Creating What I Couldn't Find

Like many people, I wanted my home to reflect my personality — to feel warm, expressive, and filled with beauty. But every time I looked for art to hang on the walls, I was met with the same thing: mass-produced prints, generic florals, or art that felt disconnected from the world I loved.

So I decided to create what I couldn’t find. I drew inspiration from the things that grounded me — the native flora of Australia, the rich colours of nature, and the way a single bloom can command attention. I painted with joy, with curiosity, and with a desire to bring something unique into the world.

From Passion to Purpose

The first time someone asked if they could buy one of my paintings, I was surprised — and humbled. I wasn’t trying to sell art; I was simply creating it because it brought me joy.
But that moment was a turning point. I realised I wasn’t the only one searching for art that felt personal, original, and designed with care.

Bit by bit, a business began to take shape — one grounded in artistic integrity, sustainability, and storytelling. My collections grew from wall art to tea towels, scarves, coasters, cards, and gift sets — all printed from my original hand-painted designs.

Building a Brand Around Beauty and Meaning

Every product I create begins the same way: with paint, paper, and a vision. But it’s not just about what it looks like — it’s about how it makes you feel. Whether it’s a print on your wall, a scarf you wear, or a gift you give, I want each piece to carry beauty, soul, and intention.

I never set out to start a business. I set out to bring more meaning into the everyday — through art that speaks to who we are, where we live, and what we love.
