Collection: Azure Collection — Modern Abstract Art

Azure is my most expressive modern abstract collection — bold, contemporary and distinctly Australian. A deliberately limited palette of blues, teals and charcoal, with native flora reimagined as statement wall art. Made for contemporary, coastal and Hamptons interiors that want something elevated rather than the predictable blue and white.

About the Azure Collection

The Azure Collection was painted at the start of the COVID lockdowns in 2020. With our other business effectively closed and time suddenly available, I went back to the studio and started painting — not the florals I'd been making, but something more experimental and deliberately modern.

I chose a limited colour palette from the start. Blues, teals, charcoal, with the deep rich tones of the ocean rather than the pale washes of a typical coastal palette. Not chinoiserie. Not blue and white. Something more elevated and non-traditional — colours that could hold their own as statement wall art in a contemporary home.

The subject was still Australian native flora — banksias, proteas, gum blossoms — but painted as modern abstract still life compositions rather than expressive botanical works. I painted five pieces during that period. Only two have been released: Moody Blues and Blue Banksias — both have become some of my best selling works and personal favourites.

The collection has been licensed for bedding, home decor and wall art, and extended into a silk scarf, tea towels, wooden accessories and cards. It suits contemporary interiors, coastal homes, Hamptons-style spaces and boho styling — anywhere that wants something distinctly Australian with a modern, elevated edge.
