Original paintings sit at the heart of my creative world.
Each work is created slowly and intuitively, guided by colour, form, and feeling rather than fixed outcomes. While the paintings often begin with botanical reference, they are not literal representations. Instead, they are interpretations — shaped through layers, adjustment, and response — and refined over time until they feel resolved. These works exist as one-of-a-kind pieces, each holding its own presence while contributing to a broader, evolving body of work.
Painting is where everything begins. The work moves between botanical interpretation and abstraction, allowing each painting to develop naturally rather than conforming to a single style or formula. I’m drawn to capturing essence rather than accuracy — distilling natural forms into something more considered and authored. Working from botanical reference as a point of departure, the paintings move beyond realism, favouring interpretation and abstraction. The focus is on distilling natural forms into something more considered and authored, resulting in work that feels familiar yet distinctly personal.
Colour & Sensibility
Colour plays a central role in the work, but it is never predetermined. Rather than beginning with a fixed palette, colour emerges intuitively as each painting develops, responding to balance and atmosphere. This approach allows colour to support the work quietly as it takes shape, creating a sense of cohesion without reliance on strict systems or formulas.
From Paintings to Collections
Over time, original paintings often come together to form distinct collections — bodies of work shaped by subject, interpretation, and intuition. While each painting stands as a resolved individual work, these collections offer a broader view into how ideas develop and unfold across multiple pieces.
Many paintings move into private collections or remain part of the studio archive, while others continue to inform new work. In some cases, these collections later give rise to art prints and designed pieces, allowing the essence of the original paintings to continue in new forms.
Available Original Paintings
A small number of original paintings are available at any given time.
Each work is one-of-a-kind and created through the same slow, intuitive process described above.
If you’re interested in collecting an original painting, or would like to follow the evolution of my work more closely, you’re warmly invited to stay connected. Original paintings, past collections, and new works are shared quietly, to my subscribers and collectors as they become available.
